FILMGATE Technology Upgrade Reasons
ColorGATE has now introduced FILMGATE5, the fifth generation of one of the most flexible and productive software products for digital film prints.
In this new version 5 several news and improvements regarding reliable and error-free output as well as a stable, efficient production workflow have been implemented. Worth mentioning for example are the further optimized intuitive user interface, the new online help system as well as numerous revised assistants and dialogs such as the printer set up.
This version includes the latest RIP technology to decrease RIP times of PS, PDF and PDF/X files significantly. Besides the enhanced productivity the detailed data analysis enables a most reliable output.
The new version includes some new functions such as the "JobInfo Log" for job information, a "Media Compensation" for a correctly sized output as well as a 16 bit rendering option for homogenous gradients:
New JobInfo Log - This function can be found in the main toolbar as info icon. It contains a detailed overview of job information as well as a job analysis. Misprints caused by missing fonts or not replaced spot colors can be avoided.
Improved User Interface - FILMGATE5 is quite complex; nevertheless it provides an amazing user-friendly user interface with a new online help system, intuitive menu orientation and automatic assistants.
Improved File Management - With ColorGATE Version 5 the simultaneous movement of many jobs, a sort function as well as a column configuration for the job queue has been added.
CONTAINER - The container arranges jobs automatically and makes a media saving free placement on the print sheet possible. It is an unbeatable multi-purpose function for every task.
- Both the optimal printer usage and an efficient job positioning are guaranteed.
- There is a new icon for the container in the main toolbar.
- Via dialog will be warned when new jobs with different print modes are added to a container or when a container is created.
- Misprints caused by container content with different print mode are avoided.
Media Compensation - Certain printers have the negative characteristic to print film prints slightly out of size. By using this function the length as well as width dimension can be compensated automatically. Therefore you can always check, if your system prints accurately when using different print mode settings and media. Producing expensive waste are things of the past.
IMPORTANT: Upgrades to version 5 accept MIM combinations of version 4 for color consistent production!
